[Character]
Character Name: Jessi Taylor
Source: Kyle XY

Personality: damaged girl with a superbrain

Jessi is a deeply troubled girl; of course, she would be, given her short but difficult background.

Sarah - stubborn, impetuous, volatile
smart, adventurous, creative
reckless, impulsive - wants to live in the moment because she has no past
awkward, prickly, surly
little sense of privacy
forthright in her dealings with other people but closed off about her own feelings
life is supposed to be this great thing, but she just feels lost and empty most of the time
no self-esteem - "I finally have a chance that I'm worth something...Maybe I have to prove it to myself."
"maladjusted attention-seeker"
"People with the most to offer usually believe in themselves the least"
no idea who she is as a person so she tries to emulate her mother
- one good thing out of learning the truth was discovering how extraordinary she was. before she
expresses her emotions in a simple and forthright manner
used to being let down, not used to having people on her side

History/Pull Point:

Abilities/Special Powers/Non average skills: Normally humans use all of their brains, but only small percentages at any one time; hyperactive brain activity can induce or indicate a seizure. Being born in a pod means that Jessi can use more of her brain at once than normal people, though attempting to do too much puts strain on her and can induce aneurism or seizure. It functions in many ways like a computer and grants her access to a whole host of superhuman abilities: heightened senses, super strength, hydrokinesis, telekinesis, electrokinesis, regenerative healing, telepathy (with other telepaths), and encyclopedic/holographic memory. She is capable of nearly anything Kyle is, and it's implied Kyle has only skimmed the surface of his potential; Jessi, however, is a degree weaker than Kyle. Both are exceptionally gifted in particular in mathematics, science, and anything related to technology.

At present, Jessi has access to heightened senses, some super strength (she can survive great jumps and lift a man by the neck with one hand without being phased), hydrokinesis (walking on water, movement of small volumes of water), telekinesis (no greater than ten pounds), and electrokinesis (latent, manifested mostly in technology). When she's in emotional turmoil, her abilities tend to go haywire: the greater the turmoil, the greater the outward manifestation of it.

[Game Specific]

Character class: Sage

Why your character would be that class: As a podbaby, Jessi has a highly developed brain that functionally makes her a human supercomputer. Knowledge is only the most basic of her host of gifts, learned or potential--but only knowledge, and not the wisdom accompanying it. Jessi lacks a truly developed moral compass (Kyle functionally is her moral compass), which is what would make her role as a sage so interesting: sage implies wisdom implies an understanding of human nature, while Jessi only knows the textbook definitions of the words. Having to step into the role of an advisor would push her down a path toward growth, whether for good or for ill. She certainly has a track record with using ill-gotten knowledge for malicious purposes. Also Jessi just really doesn't know what privacy means.

Powers/skills to be gained by being that class: Her computer skills would translate into an uncanny talent with spying on the orb (player permission pending), and I'm thinking prophecies or warnings could come to her as complex mathematica formulae she'd have to somehow translate into actual speech? Please note that I suck terribly at math.

I'm fine with Jessi's powers being nerfed in some way, though as noted they already self-nerf when she strains herself. I would prefer, though, to keep some of them; Jessi's entire self-concept is wrapped up in what she can do, and losing too much of that would mean losing her entire identity.

Canon Point:

Setting: Suspend your disbelief for a moment and pretend humans really do only use 6% of their brain. The longer a fetus spends in gestation, the greater their brain development when born--or at least that was the theory that drives the magically inaccurate science of Kyle XY. Following in the footsteps of Einstein, whose super smarts are apparently because he spent several weeks longer in his mother's womb, a number of scientists devised an experiment to artificially prolong pregnancy. It did work: an embryo implanted into a surrogate mother gestated for thirteen months was born and grew up to become a brilliant prodigy named Adam Baylin; the mother died in childbirth. Baylin had a vision to create more people like him, but gestated in artificial wombs to prevent from harming more surrogates.

His project, officially labeled 781227 XY, was sponsored by Latnok, a secret society of scientists and academics, and executed by one of their offshoot companies, Zzyzx. Using the Hungarian word for "prophet" as their name, the organization was originally founded with the greatest of intentions. What their ultimate goal was is a mystery, but suffice to say different members had different plans for their experiment. Baylin and his girlfriend Sarah, Jessi's biological mother, wanted companions with whom they could make the world a better place Unknown to Baylin, however, certain members of Latnok began a second project in secret: 781228 XX, the unit to be known in the future as Jessi. One of these people was Jessi's biological father Brian Taylor, and his decision to create Jessi went in direct defiance of the other members of Latnok. Jessi was unintended, undesired, her capabilities believed to be only a fraction of what XY would be able to do.

From the very beginning Jessi is established as Kyle's counterpart, and for this reason it's vital to understand Kyle's circumstances, to see how Jessi's contrast his.

Personality:

Abilities, Weaknesses, and Power Limitation Suggestions:
Jessi can use over 80 percent of her brain, and it functions in some ways like a computer and grants her access to a whole host of superhuman abilities: heightened senses, super strength, hydrokinesis, telekinesis, electrokinesis, regenerative healing, telepathy (with other telepaths), and encyclopedic/holographic memory. She is capable of doing anything Kyle is, and it's implied Kyle has only skimmed the surface of his potential; Jessi, however, is a degree weaker than Kyle. Both are exceptionally gifted in particular in mathematics, science, and anything related to technology.

Firstly, technology: Jessi will not be able to access any protected entries, databases, or programs without specific approval from mods/players.

Inventory: n/a
Appearance: During the show's run Jessi was played by actress Jaimie Alexander. She's tall for a girl her age, with brown hair, hazel eyes, and a well-toned physique.
Age: 17

The hologram is extremely unhelpful. She won't give me the data I need and her security protocols are keeping me from getting it.

I need real answers. Like where I am, for a start.
